The Midvale teens have been visiting residents at Canyon Creek Assisted Living Center for over 2 years. We go once a month and engage in activities with the elderly people that live there. Activities range from crafts to card games to active games with balloons and bean bags. Every now and then I will take my guitar and we will sing fun classic songs like "Oh Susanna, B-I-N-G-O, This Little Light of Mine, and You Are My Sunshine." The residents love the music and most of them sing along or at least tap their foot with a smile on their face.
I saw this video and thought of the sweet experiences we've had at Canyon Creek. It is a great feeling to serve others, make them smile, and brighten their day! :) Often times the teens are a little nervous to go at first, but once they have that first experience, they look forward to going back soon. We love our friends at the assisted living center!
